The Cafe on the Route has been in operation under several owners for many years. It was once featured on The Food Network program Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. It is located in what formerly was called the Crowell Bank building, which in 1876 was famous for being held up by Jesse James and Cole Younger. This space was completely updated in 2018 with a renovated kitchen, new mechanical systems and cooking equipment, and operated for almost a year and half after the renovations until the pandemic forced its closure. The Little Brick Inn, formerly a seven room Bed & Breakfast, is now completely renovated and consists of 26 new fully furnished guest rooms spanning the second story of the restaurant building and the additional four buildings to the south. The building that is the entrance to the Inn, 1105 Military Ave, was completely torn down and reconstructed to include the second story. The main level of the Inn has the guest lobby, guest laundry, and elevator to the second floor. All guest rooms feature memory foam mattresses on adjustable base beds, bathrooms that have vanity tops and showers by The Onyx Collection, and a full line of amenities such as a LED flat screen TV, a mini fridge, and a microwave. Back of house operations include onsite commercial laundry equipment, check in and key card software, security controlled doors, and a tornado shelter for guests and staff. The space formerly occupied by the Decades of Wheels Car Museum is designed with a front entry memorabilia shop and admission counter. Once inside the museum area, the space spans across two and one-half buildings with overhead doors for access to the back alley. If a buyer is not interested in utilizing this area as a museum, the space offers several hundred square feet of adaptable retail space that could be repurposed for a variety of uses. The Spin Out Arcade utilizes two buildings and is designed as a video game arcade. The space also has a Bumper Car Track and a car themed Gymboree. The design includes three gathering rooms for patrons to utilize as party rooms for birthday parties and other celebrations, four restrooms, and is connected by a door to Rita’s Roost. It also has an overhead door to the alley. Rita’s Roost is a two story Bar and Bistro done in a 50’s style theme. This property has a partially equipped bar and a second story with restrooms that can accommodate private parties. The Bistro is connected to the kitchen at Cafe on the Route via a back corridor allowing secure, quick and efficient service to its patrons.
